Request
The knowledge of the HHNK pumping stations is mainly stored in people's heads. This entails risks, especially in times of an aging population. The Hollands Noorderkwartier Water Authority has therefore asked us to record all essential knowledge.

Solution
Together with HHNK, we first drew up an information plan. This allowed us to determine what specific knowledge was required. We then developed the following knowledge documents in close collaboration with the facility manager and the technical staff:
- Functional description: a description of the components that make up the pumping station, how they interact with one another, and the role of the pumping station within the district.
- Technical description: a complete description of all elements that make up the pumping station, including all relevant technical specifications.
- Software description: a complete description of the software used to control the pumping station.
- Procedures: instructions for operation, maintenance, and emergency response.

Outcome
Knowledge about the pumping stations has been documented. This ensures that the pumping stations will continue to function properly in the future and that people in the polders will stay dry.
